Description
In this course you will learn the moving components to maintaining posture throughout your execution of ballet. In other words, what you learn in this class should be applied to every step in ballet, in relation to the choreography required, because, regardless of what ballet steps you do, or whatever ballet choreography you perform, feet will always be turned out, arms will be supported at the elbow and neck will always be lengthened. This video course takes the individual through 8 parts of the body by means of 8 very detailed lessons in which the joints and muscles pertaining to that body division are discussed. Thought processes are suggested to activate or engage those muscles and suggested exercises are given to practice, in order to establish correct ballet posture that will apply to both a stationary stance as well as in a moving or dancing context. This course ONLY covers ballet fundamentals and the purpose is to cover as much detail as possible so that when a beginner dancer goes to their first ballet class, they will have some solid foundations on which to begin. For the ballet teacher, this course provides concise and healthy teaching suggestions for ballet foundations. Why is this so important? Because once mastered, we can get to the real joy of dancing!
